Parlee Barker

Parlee Barker age 79 of Greenfield, IN, went home to be with the Lord on Friday April 13, 2012 at the Hancock Regional Hospital Hospice Unit. She was born August 6, 1932 in Sprig, W Va the daughter of the late Arvil and Della White Johnson. She is a member of the Bethel Apostolic Church. Parlee had been employed at Indiana Bell and A T & T for 32 years. Upon retirement she began a second career as a real estate agent. She worked in New Castle until the late 1980’s when she moved to Connersville and continued in real estate. This past January she moved to Greenfield. In her free time she enjoyed movies, the outdoors including fishing, and horses as well as travel and shopping. She is survived by her two sons and spouses, Tom & Loreen Trent, Greenfield; and Larry & Joy Trent, New Castle; a brother Rev. Tom Johnson and wife Rosa, Connersville; and a sister Evelyn Phillips and husband Jimmy of Richmond. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren Adam Trent, April Veal, Melissa Trent, and Stephanie Trent as well as 4 great grandchildren, Kamden Trent, Lochlan Trent, Luca Godkin, and Benjamin Ellis and several nieces and nephews. Parlee is also survived by her former husbands George Trent of New Castle and Roland Barker of Albany. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by 3 brothers Johnny, Arlon and Willis Johnson. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday at 1:00 P.M. at the Bethel Apostolic Church with Parlee’s brother Rev. Tom Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Elkhorn Cemetery in Richmond. Friends may visit at the Urban-Winkler Funeral Home on Monday from 4-8 P.M.
