Cecil C Roark, age 88, of Connersville passed away from heart failure on Monday January 28, 2013 at Reid Hospital in Richmond. He was born September 4, 1924 in Franklin County, IN, the son of the late Joseph & Sallie Hibbard Roark. He was employed for many years with Rex, Philco, and Ford Electronics and Refrigeration until his retirement in September, 1984.
He was a hard working man who started and operated Roark Plumbing and Heating for nearly 25 years in addition to his ‘day job’.
Cecil and his wife, June, also kept busy buying, renovating, and selling houses in this area as well as Florida. He and June took great delight, over the years, in helping children and many grandchildren remodel and decorate their homes. They worked tirelessly performing tasks of love for all their posterity.
He also took great joy in service. Every year for the past 12 years, he spent countless hours every growing season planting and harvesting some 2 acres of garden produce which he freely gave to family, friends and strangers alike while also helping anyone in need with do-it-yourself projects. There were seemingly no tasks he couldn’t perform, all of which were self taught.
Cecil was a longtime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he held many offices and leadership positions in the church and also served as a missionary in California with his beloved wife, June. There was nothing more important to him than his family. Cecil was preceded in death by his wife June Christine Tinch Roark to whom he was married on December 25, 1945 in Franklin County. They were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints’ Logan, UT temple on July 20, 1971. June passed away on January 13, 2001 in Gotha, FL.
He is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Georginna Faye & Clair Johnson, Connersville; and Patricia Ann & Robert Wadle, Connersville; a son and his wife Joseph Wayne & Carmen Roark, Draper, UT; a sister, Celeste Fern Roark, Franklin County; Grandchildren, Bryan (& Rachel) Johnson; Tammy Wadle Browne; Shawnee (& Kent)LeFevre; Tracy (& Dennis) Cain; Travis (& Julie) Wadle; Trent (& Jenny) Wadle; Brock (& Britney) Roark; Branden Roark; Brittany (& Daniel) Hammond; and Brooke Roark; as well as 18 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. He also has many nieces and nephews.
