Obituary

The gates of heaven opened wide, and a great man was welcomed into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father. In His words, "When the time comes, I'm a winner."

Arthur "Art" Baldwin of the Everton community, passed away on May 5, 2024, surrounded by his loving family, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 74. Art was born in Batesville, IN on August 12, 1949, the son of the late Orville and Evelyn Carpenter Baldwin.

He was united in marriage to the love of his life, the former Diann Venable, on February 14, 1975. They shared 49 years of marriage prior to his death and were blessed with four beautiful daughters.

Art retired from Connersville Utilities after many years of service. He also had worked at D&M and was the owner of Art Baldwin Bail Bonds. Art was a proud American and served his country as Army Vietnam Veteran from 1969 to 1971. He is a member of Connersville Baptist Temple. He enjoyed relaxing while fishing, wandering the woods while mushroom hunting, ginseng hunting, or hunting. Art's most precious treasure that he valued the most was the time that he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He enjoyed the friendship of his four-legged side kick Juno. Art had a heart of gold and would do anything he could to be a help to anybody that needed him.  His family was his world, and he was so proud of each one, and would have given the shirt off his back if they needed it.

In addition to his loving wife, Diann, his love and memories will be forever cherished by his daughters, Andra (Trever) Geis, Christa Revalee, Tina (Chopper) Stikeleather and Jerri (Jamie) Kenworthy; brothers, Donnie (Brenda) Baldwin, Cliff (Myrna) Baldwin, John (Martha) Baldwin and Jim (Ruth) Baldwin; and a sister, Patty Clark.  He will be thought of often by his grandchildren, Raegan Shamblin, Jordan Revalee-Pursifull, Peyton Revalee, Carsen Revalee, Marlene Risch, Hayden Stikeleather and Poet Kenworthy; great grandchildren, Crew Telker, Trace Shamblin, Ava Powers, Jameson Powers, Christian Pursifull, Aubrey Risch and Kyler Risch; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Diana Davis, and Jennifer Baldwin; and a grandson, Clay Geis.

Friends may gather with the family on Monday May 13, 2024, at Connersville Baptist Temple from 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be conducted at the church on Tuesday May 14, 2024, at 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Ferreira and Pastor Ronald Russell officiating. Art will be laid to rest at Everton Cemetery.
