Brenda
Nick
Apr 26, 1952 — Apr 4, 2022
Brenda S. Nick, age 69, formerly of Connersville, passed away on April 4, 2022, at the home of her sister, Carolyn, in Brookville. She was born on April 26, 1952, in Pineville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late George and Vivian Thompson Nick. She moved with her family to Connersville when she was a baby and lived here until 2018 when her health required her to move to Brookville.
She is a 1971 graduate of Connersville High School and went on to receive her BSN from Ball State University in 1976. Two days after receiving her degree, she started working at Fayette Memorial Hospital in the Surgery Department where she served for 36 years before her retirement.
While living in Brookville she attended Oak Forest Church of Christ and had also attended Connersville Baptist Temple. She loved Jesus Christ and wanted everyone in her family to feel that same love. Brenda wanted everyone to accept Jesus Christ and to be baptized.
Since she had no children of her own, she spoiled her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed taking them on trips, having pizza parties and taking them swimming. She always put her family first and was known for her kind heart. Brenda enjoyed watching the birds and deer, flower gardening, and spending time with her family. Her dogs, Cody and Buttons, where also a joy of her life. She recently started looking into her family history on Ancestory.com and spent many hours doing research.
She is survived by her brothers, Melvin (Dee Dee) Nick and Terry (Angie) Nick of Connersville; sisters Helen (Tim) Walker of Connersville and Carolyn (Sam) Samford- of Brookville; niece, Lori; nephews, Brian, Matt, Jon, Michael, Kyle, John, Nick, Terry Dwayne, Clint, and Kurt; great nieces and nephews; and her step-mother, Judy Reynolds.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Rosalee Sparks.
