Burbon
Jackson
May 20, 1943 — Jan 12, 2024
Burbon Lloyd Jackson of Liberty began his eternal journey with his Lord and Savior on January 12, 2024, at Reid Health in Richmond, at the age of 80. Burbon was born in Burlington, Kentucky on May 20, 1943, one of six children of Burbert and Elizabeth Brown Jackson.
He was united in marriage on December 26, 1964, at Full Gospel Holiness Church in Connersville, to the love of his life, the former Barbara Jean Fox. They shared 59 years of marriage prior to his death and were blessed with five children.
He retired from Culligan in 1991 as a driver/salesman. Prior to that he had worked for several years at Philco Ford and Stants. After retirement he spent most of his time as a vendor at local flea markets, swapping goods and stories with friends and strangers.
He was blessed with the gift of singing and playing guitar. He spent most of his life ministering at churches all over the tri-state area. Burbon currently attended the Waterloo Pentecostal Holiness Church.
His love and memory will be cherished by his wife, Barbara; daughters, Dena (Mike) Parker, Cindy (Jon) Burch, Angela (Doug) Philbeck and Melissa (Brandon) Hunter; a son, Richard Jackson; grandchildren, Spencer and Brennen Parker, Richard D. Jackson, Jr., Gary Mullins, Travis Bailey, April Carrell, Braiden and Trevor Hunter, Nita Toschlog, Doug Philbeck, Jr., Jess Baker and April Philbeck; as well as 19 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. He will be in the thoughts of his sisters, Darlene Jackson and Tonya Jackson; brother Ronald (Yvette) Jackson; and several nieces and nephews.
His family will miss all the crazy jokes that he had to stop and remember before finishing them. Often telling the punch line too quickly.
Burbon was welcomed into heaven by his parents; two sisters, Diane Isaacs and Carolyn "Susie" Wyatt; and a great granddaughter, Payson Parker.
Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville, on Friday January 19, 2024, at 11:00 am with Pastor Albert Rose officiating. He will be laid to rest at Dale Cemetery. Friends and family may gather at the funeral home on Thursday evening January 18, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
Memorial contributions may be made at the funeral home to Waterloo Pentecostal Holiness Church.
