Carol L. Handley of Connersville, passed away on August 1, 2024, at Caroleton Health Care at the age of 81.  She was born in Richmond, IN on May 30, 1943, the only child of Carl Phillips and Marguerite Fort.

She was united in marriage to David Handley on July 25, 1966.  They shared 58 year of marriage prior to her death.

Carol retired from the Fayette County School Corporation after 20 years of service as a lunch aide at Maplewood School.  She worked for 20 years as a press operator at PRC Recording.  She enjoyed going camping, boating, working on her needlepoint projects and bowling.  The most valuable treasure was the time she spent with family.

In addition to her husband, David, her love and memories will be cherished by her son and daughter-in-law, David Jr. and Connie Handley; brother-in-law, Michael (Sandy) Handley; and sister-in-law, Kay (David) Sherwood.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Sondra Scanlon and her father and mother-in law, Kenneth and Wilma Handley.

A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
