Charles E Mengedoht 71, of Connersville passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on Friday, June 14, 2024. He was born in Fayette County on July 25, 1952, the son of the late Charles W. and Betty Mengedoht.

On March 4, 1972, Charles married the love of his life, the former Nina Gaddis. They were able to spend 52 years together prior to his passing and were blessed with 3 children.

Charles was a busy body, he did not like to be seen sitting around. Charles worked for Connersville Parks Department for over 40 years. He worked for them until his retirement, eventually returning to become a part-time employee. Charles was brilliant when it came to card playing, he loved playing about any card game and he always won. He enjoyed the outdoors, he valued the time he spent relaxing while casting his fishing line. Charles loved his family dearly, and he treasured the time his spent with them especially his grandchildren. Charles had a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone who needed him, he will be sorely missed.

Along with his wife Nina, he is survived by his children Jeana (Tony) Steele and Susan (Chris) Waddell, as well as his daughter-in-law Penny Mengedoht. He will be greatly missed by his siblings; brothers, Terry Mengedoht, Gary (Sharon) Mengedoht, Joe (Sara) Mengedoht, and sisters, Teresa Mengedoht and Sara Isaacs. His memory will live on his grandchildren, Christian (Tina) Rose, Corey Rose, Damian Rose, Hailey Waddell, Kelsi Waddell, Katelyn Waddell, Patrick Mengedoht, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Bernard Eugene Mengedoht, a twin brother, Russell "Dean" Mengedoht, and brother, John Mengedoht.
