Connie L. Smith, age 66, of Liberty, passed away on October 23, 2023 at UC Medical Center in Cincinnati as the result of an automobile accident earlier that day.  She was born in Fort Hamilton, OH on January 13, 1957, the daughter of the late Charles Barrett, Sr. and Jacqueline Proffitt.

Connie was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed working in her flower gardens, tending her houseplants, cooking, baking, going boating and fishing.  She and Harold loved to travel until his health restricted his traveling.  She lived a simple life and her most valued treasure was the time she spent with her grandkids and family.

Besides her husband Harold, her memory will be loved and cherished by her daughter, Julie (Brandon) Combs; brother Randy Proffitt; grandchildren, Preston Jones, Madilyn Jones, Summer Combs, and Brantley Combs; her best friend that she thought of as a sister, Margie Edwards; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Chuck Barrett and sisters, Bobbie Jones, Naomi Fry and Karen Proffitt.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home, 310 N Main, on Sunday October 29, 2023 at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dean Van Winkle officiating.  Friends may gather with the family from 1:00 pm until the hour of the service.
