Cord
Coyle
May 20, 1957 — Apr 27, 2024
A heart of gold stopped beating, servant hands came to a rest, and a compassionate smile faded as Cord W. Coyle went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. At the age of 66 his courageous 9 year battle with Carcinoid cancer was complete. He fought like a hero for many years, but God said, "Well done my good and faithful servant, it's time to carry you home." Cord was born on May 20, 1957, in Connersville, Indiana, the son of the late Cosby Coyle and Lottie Mays Coyle Eberhart.
On November 1, 1994, in the quaint town of Graham, Texas, Cord married the love of his life, the former Kelli Schneider. Together they raised 2 daughters and a son.
Cord was a 1975 graduate of Connersville High School. After high school he relocated to Texas where he pursued a career in the medical field. Cord dedicated nearly 40 years of his life to public service. He currently served Connersville and the surrounding communities as the Fayette County Coroner. He took honor in his duties as coroner and was well respected for his professionalism. He worked in Emergency Medical Services for 37 years. Cord completed his EMT training at Possum Kingdom EMS. He began his journey in the medical field as a basic EMT for the City of Graham, Texas in 1983. Cord worked his way up the ladder and became a paramedic during his employment with the Graham EMS. He was known to be one of the most intelligent paramedics in the field. He later became the director of EMS in Graham, Texas. In 1999 Cord and his family relocated back to Connersville Indiana where he worked as a captain and director for the Fayette Memorial Hospital EMS for 10 years. He finished his medical career at Rush Memorial Hospital in Rushville, Indiana where he worked for 9 years prior to his retirement. Cord also served multiple jurisdictions as a law enforcement officer, most recently as a reserve deputy for the Rush County Sherriff's Department where he was nominated as the Reserved Deputy of the Year for the last several years. His journey began in 1984 with the Young County Sheriff's Department where he remained for 16 years as a reserve deputy. He also served as a paramedic for the Connersville Police Departments S.W.A.T. team from 2004-2020. Cord had a true servant's heart; he would do absolutely anything to help the people he loved and cared for.
Cord was a devoted husband, father, and Pa to his family and always made family his number one priority. When he wasn't serving the community, he could be found tinkering in the garage or his workshop with the latest project. Cord was a Mopar enthusiast that enjoyed strolling through local and national car shows, he even owned a few Mopar's over the years. Although he was a Mopar man he could spat off the make, model, and year of just about any classic car. Along with his family Cord was a member of Grace Church in Connersville. He loved the Lord with all his heart and is now resting peacefully in the arms of Jesus.
Along with his wife Kelli of nearly 30 years, he is survived by his children; son, Marty (Nicole) Coyle, and daughters, Tanya Coyle and Miranda Coyle-Gilbert. His memories will be cherished forever by his grandchildren Kayleigh Brochin, Aiden Gilbert, Jaxon Gilbert, and Maddox Coyle. He will be missed by his sisters, Linda Luckey, and Brenda Palmer. Cord is survived by several cousins that were more like siblings: Rita Batcher, Mike (Vicki) Coyle, Larry (Jo) Coyle, Tracy (Brad) Richardson, Cathy Hudley, Barbara Coyle, and Donna Coyle Feeback as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Along with his parents, Lottie and Cosby, Cord was welcomed to his eternal home by his in-laws Ed and Kathy Schneider, a special cousin JoAnna Robertson, and dear friend Gary Tull.
