Curtis C. Cook, age 96, of Connersville IN, passed away on November 27, 2021. Curtis "Curt" was born on November 24,1925 in Stendal, Indiana. He was the son of Chester Cook and Naomi Condict Cook.

Curtis was drafted into the Navy just before the end of World War II. (1944-1946). The first months of his military service were difficult compounded by homesickness and concern for the welfare of his mother and sisters. He spoke little about his military time until his later years, but with reservation.

Following his military time, Curtis worked for Western Electric.

On December 20, 1947, Curtis married Katherine "Katie" McHenry in Connersville, Indiana. Upon early retirement from Western Electric, they owned and operated the Lamp Shop in Indianapolis, Indiana. During those years, Curtis enjoyed restoring old cars. He was passionate about every detail. None were finished until every bolt and screw were like new. Having lived 40 years in Indianapolis, they spent their last years together in Connersville.

Curtis' parents and his wife, Katherine, preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sisters; Lorene Cook Smith and Oleva Cook Oman of Richland Center, WI and Barbara Cook Bump of Bedford, IN; many nephews, nieces and cousins from both Curt and Katie's side – the family all of whom was very dear to him. He is also survived by a nephew, Gary Kraft, who was very special to enabling Curt to live in his own home until April 2021.

Curt was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Carl Oman; and his niece, Brenda (Tim) Deckard; as well as several other in-laws and cousins.

A graveside service for Curtis will be held on Thursday, December 2, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Laurel North Cemetery with Loren Quick and Kenion Coleman officiating.
