Obituary

Dana Lanay Blanton passed away on Sunday evening, October 12, 2025, in Indianapolis.  She was with her family and surrounded by love.   Dana was born in Connersville, the daughter of the late Danny Steele and Marzella Blanton Benton, on January 12, 1973.

Dana was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother that never met a stranger.  She was known for being a very caring and kind person.  Once you met Dana, you were a longtime friend.  She enjoyed going for walks, being outdoors enjoying nature, coloring, watching movies and playing card games with her family.  Her passion was studying Astrology.  When she was younger, she loved going to concerts and listening to all genres of music.  Most importantly, Dana loved spending time with her family and friends.

Her memories  will be held close to the hearts of her children, Kentessa (Carrissa) McWilliams, twins, Danika and Dasha Blanton, and Brittany Guffey ; her sister Dreama (Jeremy) Bergen; step-sister, Hollie Benton; grandchildren, Chloe and Avery McWilliams; a niece, Raina Tibbs; Kevin Guffey, her longtime companion, as well as several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Lella "Granny" Steele and Braidus Blanton; paternal grandparents, Charlie Steele and June Friend; and her stepfather, James Benton.
