David Wayne Allen of Laurel, passed away on September 13, 2024 in Rushville, IN at the age of 44.  David was born in Connersville, IN on October 10, 1979, the son of Dewey David "Crane" Allen and the late Margaret Ann Lutz.

David was a self-employed mason who worked throughout the area.  He had a love of the outdoors.  You could find him walking the creeks, cruising the roads on his motorcycle, or out in the woods shooting targets.  His greatest joy came from the time he spent with his family.

His love and memory will be cherished by his father; his significant other, Erika Grundy; sons, Dylan (Shelby) Allen, David Jaekup (Megan Gatrost) Allen and Ryder Kain Allen; and a bonus daughter, Akira Kersey.  He will be in the thoughts of his grandchildren, Dashtion May Allen and Deklin Denver Allen and a half sister, Crystal Bennett Coffey.

In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by several aunts, uncles and cousins, including Aunt Deborah Isaacs and Uncle Donnie Allen.

A Celebration of Life will be conducted by Pastor Rob Edwards at 12:00 noon on Thursday September 19, 2024, at Buena Southern Missionary Baptist Church, 25220 Chapel Road, Laurel, IN.  Friends and family may gather from 10:00 am until the hour of the service.
