David Marion Luce, 71, of Yorktown, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023, with his family by his side. He was born on September 4, 1952, in Muncie. He was the only son of Sylvia Cook-Luce and Marion Luce.

Dave graduated from Daleville High School in 1970, and later went on to attend Ball State University. In 1980, he moved to Cicero, Indiana, where he met the love of his life, Jil. They were married on July 31, 1981, at Yorktown United Methodist Church.

For many years, he managed maintenance for local nursing homes. Most recently, he had worked at Willowbend Living Center as social services coordinator.

He loved to be outdoors, especially if he was camping or fishing.  His favorite thing to do, though, was spend time with Jil, whether it was going out to dinner with their friends, or just sitting in each other's company on the back porch. The love they shared was admired and respected by all who knew them.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Tamara Jilene Brown-Luce; his daughter, Amanda Barrows, of Columbus, OH; his son, Adam (Tricia) Hampton, of Ft. Wayne; two granddaughters, Juliana and Savannah Hampton; his close cousin, Beverly Pershing, of Anderson; his brother and sister-in-law, Tony & Zonica Brown, of Cicero; a niece, Nicole (Joe) Rector; two nephews, Nathan (Tabitha) Brown and Noah (Lillian) Brown; two great-nephews, Zane Brown and Liam Brown, and a great-niece, Noelle Brown, as well as his extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother and father-in-law, Elizabeth and Willis Brown, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Dave never met a stranger. Or if he did, they didn't stay that way for long. Along with his family, he will be incredibly missed by numerous friends and coworkers he met throughout his lifetime.

Visitation for Dave will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm at Hartley Funeral Home, 209 W Jackson St., Cicero, IN 46034. The service will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at Hartley Funeral Home, with his nephew, Noah Brown, officiating. Burial will follow at Cicero Cemetery.
