Desiree "Desi" Marlene Devereaux-Heis, 67 of Connersville IN, passed away at Reid Hospital Richmond on Monday, February 19, 2024. She was born October 12, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Cy and Maureen Gunn Devereaux.

Desi was a very intelligent individual, she carried a Master's degree plus 40 in Secondary Education Administration. She was an English Professor for many years at the Sowela Technical Community College located in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

On April 30, 2016, Desi married the love of her life and her life partner Heidi Devereaux-Heis, in Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Her favorite activities include: watching tv, she specifically enjoyed watching the news and staying informed about current events, playing with her fur babies Holly and Jeaux Jeaux brought her great joy, the most important thing to Desi was visiting and spending time with her family and friends.

Desiree is survived by her spouse, Heidi Devereaux-Heis; and her sisters, Sherry Ferguson and Claire Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Barbara "Barb" Champagne.

A memorial service honoring Desi will be held at later date in Lake Charles, Louisiana.
