Obituary

Diane Elaine Hensley, 70 of Connersville passed away on August 17, 2026. She was born on March 19, 1956 in Connersville to Gerald Larson and Reba Gant Seal.

On July 14, 1989 she married William Hensley in Connersville. They were able to spend 32 years before he passed away on June 26, 2021.

She devoted much of her life to caring for others and had an especially tender heart for individuals with special needs. For many years, she proudly coached Special Olympics, forming lasting bonds with the athletics she encouraged and supported. She had the remarkable ability to see the best in everyone.

She worked at Lincoln Center and later at Heritage House, where she served as Qualified Medication Aide for 18 years. Caring for others came naturally to her.

She was truly one of a kind. She could light up any room she entered with her sassy personality, quick wit and larger than life sense of humor. Christmas held an especially big place in her heart, and Christmas spirit wasn't limited to just December. She loved it all year long, especially watching Hallmark Christmas movies and the magic of the holiday season. One of the highlights of the year was traveling to Gatlinburg, a tradition she looked forward to and treasured. She also enjoyed attending festivals, crocheting, crafting, painting and reading. Diane was creative by nature, she loved keeping her hands busy especially when it came to those she loved and adored. Above all else, her greatest joy was her family. She cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, she treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. They were truly the light of her life, and the memories, laughter, traditions, and love she shared with them will remain with them for years to come.

Diane is survived by her beloved daughters; Nicole Drew (Travis), and Tonya Chaney. She will be missed dearly by her brother, Jerry Larson. Her legacy of love is instilled in her grandchildren; Shelby Weimer (Ryan), Whitney Jenkins (Caleb), Joseph Chaney, Samuel Chaney, and her great-grandchildren Liam Chaney and Remington Jenkins.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her husband William Hensley.

Diane will be remembered for her compassionate heart, her unforgettable sass, her wonderful sense of humor, and the way she made life a little brighter for everyone fortunate enough to have had known her.
