Dwight Atkins met his Lord and Savior on July 23, 2025, at the age of 78.  He was born on January 4, 1947, in Richmond KY to Ed and Lula (Fox) Atkins.

He married the former Grace Miller on January 22, 1966, in East Bernstadt. KY. They were married 59 1/2 years and blessed with two beautiful daughters.  Dwight and Grace moved to Indiana on the 5th of July 1966.

He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Community Church.  Dwight was a builder and excavator most of his life.  He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and had a pilot's license.  He restored old cars, trucks and even a dozer.   But most important was his family. He loved going camping with Grace and their dog Katie.  Every year he would take his daughters, Lynn and Dale Christmas shopping.  There is a part of Dad everywhere we look in the house.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife, Grace; daughters, Lynn (Jerry) Kennedy of Rushville, IN and Alanna Dale Atkins of Roseville, MN; four grandchildren that he loved very much, Jessie (Brandon) McDaniel and Jordan Kennedy of Rushville, IN, Jennifer (Colby) Flack of Alabama, and Vasko Atkins of Roseville MN; 4 great grandchildren, Brent and Lauren McDaniel and Luke and Sadie Flack. He was very close to his three nephews Marty, Gordon and Brian Adkins of Connersville.

He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Vadis and Delmer Adkins and Zola and Kenny Hacker.

In lieu of flowers donations can be sent to Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Liberty, IN.

Friends and family may gather to share memories of Dwight on Sunday evening, July 27, 2025, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville.  Funeral services conducted by Pastor David Fields will be held at the funeral home on Monday July 28, 2025, at 1:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Union Cemetery.
