Elzia Pennington "Bud", passed away at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis on Sunday, June 1, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born on January 22, 1940, in Cleves, Ohio, the son of the late Elzia Pennington and Minnie Lakes Retherford.

Bud married the former Nora East on February 22, 1995 in Columbus, Indiana. He worked in the manufacturing industry for 62 years prior to his retirement. He was an employee for D&M and Challenge Plastic Products, he was also employed at Wal-Mart. Bud was a member of the Moose Lodge in both Connersville and Columbus. When he wasn't working he could often be found catching up on his favorite sports teams. He also loved to travel, and was always up for an adventure. However, his favorite thing to do in the world, was spend time with his family.

Along with his wife of 30 years, Bud is survived by his sons Jeff (Cheryl), Eric (Beth), and Darin Pennington; his bonus daughters, Tina Gregory and Kim Blackburn; his sisters Karen Johnson and Bonnie Pennington. His memories will live on through his 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Bud was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Carl Pennington, Billy Lakes, Shirley Judd, Yvone Lakes, and his first wife and the mother of his children, Nancy Pennington.

Services for Bud will be held on Thursday June 5, 2025 at Urban Winkler Funeral Home located at 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, IN 47331. Friends and family may visit from 11:00AM until 1:00PM. A funeral service will begin at 1:00PM. Burial will follow at Valley Grove Cemetery.
