Eugene Russell, age 55, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2022, at Reid Health.  He had been in ill health, but his death was unexpected.  Born in Connersville on September 3, 1966, he is one of twelve children of the late David and Evelyn Angel Russell.

Eugene worked in masonry and enjoyed fishing, watching football, and listening to county music.  He was an avid Colts fan.

He has left behind to cherish his memory, a daughter, Nicole Russell; a son Rupert Eugene Russell; four brothers, Darrell Russell, Ray Russell, Larry Russell and Gary Russell; four sisters, Marlene McDaniel, Paulene Mounce, Anglene Russell, and Kathlene Russell; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Charlene Russell, Darlene Russell Hall and Alene Russell; paternal grandparents, Sherman and Martha Russell; maternal grandparents, Ed and Dula Angel; two nephews Brian Lee Russell and Brandon David Russell; and his longtime companion, Alta Blair.

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8 ^th Street, Connersville, on Monday, May 2, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm with Pastor Tim Russell officiating.  Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.
