Gordon D. Adkins

Gordon “Goby” Dwayne Adkins, in the comfort of his home with his family by his side, passed away on Friday October 2, 2026, at the age of 62. Gordon was born in Kentucky on September 12, 1964, the son of the late Delmer and Barbara (Kirk) Adkins.

On June 1, 2015, in Chattanooga, TN, he was united in marriage to the former Roseanne Vellecco. They shared 11 years of marriage prior to his passing.

Goby was a loving and devoted son, husband, father, and grandpa that enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, traveling to Las Vegas and target shooting. Although he enjoyed many things in his life, nothing meant more to him than spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren and extended family. He was a Plumbing Contractor that was part owner of Powell’s Plumbing and Electrical, Inc.

His memories will be held close to the hearts of his wife, Roseanne; daughters, Brianna Adkins and Brooke Adkins; sons Michael Adkins and Brady Adkins; a step-son, Brandon Puckett; brothers, Marty Adkins and Brian Adkins; five grandchildren, Ariana, Skylar, Ava, Samuel and Hazlee; and his bonus Mom, Hazel Wilcox.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, PFC Brandon Adkins, and his uncle Dwight Atkins, who treated him as a son after his father passed.

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street Connersville on Thursday, October 8, 2026, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, October 9, 2026, at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Abington Cemetery.
