Hazel
Drew
Jul 16, 1946 — Jun 1, 2023
Hazel Drew, age 76, went Home to meet her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on June 1, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Hazel was born in Arjay, Kentucky on July 16, 1946, the daughter of Alonzo and Marie Bennett Smith.
Hazel was united in marriage on January 25, 1963, to Robert "Bob" Drew. They spent 58 years of marriage prior to his death in 2021. They were blessed with three children.
She was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene, Connersville. Although she worked outside of the house at D & M and in tax preparation, her full-time job was a loving wife, mother, Mamaw, and Gigi. Hazel enjoyed Praying, reading her Bible, listening to gospel music, working puzzle books, or playing games with her grandchildren and family. She was known for making beautiful handmade quilts or crocheting blankets for her family and friends.
Hazel's faith, love and memories will be forever cherished by her son Robert (Brandy) Drew, Jr.; daughters, Michele Frasher, Angela (Kevin) Bramer, her brothers, William (Becky) Smith and JC (Teresa) Smith: and sisters, Rosetta (Granville) Melton and Doshia Evitts. She will be missed and often thought of by her grandchildren, Bryce and Brock Drew, Megan Gregory, Ashlie Simmons, Amber and Adam Frasher, Kaleb and Austin Bramer, Kyleah Steele, Brandon, Kasey and Zach Allen; 16 great grandchildren and two on the way. She will especially be missed by her lifelong, childhood friend, Patricia (Ken) Gray as well as her many beloved nieces and nephews.
Hazel had a "Grand Reunion" in Heaven welcomed by Jesus, her husband, parents, siblings, Kevin Smith and Diana French; and brothers-in-law James Evitts and Johnny French and many other loved ones.
Family and friends will gather on Wednesday June 7, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street. Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Randy Sherwood at 5:00 pm. Graveside services will be on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at 1:00 at Dale cemetery.
