James Choate, Jr. passed away on Monday July 27, 2026, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana at the age of 64.  He was born on February 8, 1962, the son of James, Sr.  and Genevieve Choate.

James was a truck driver.  He was known as a workaholic that enjoyed being outdoors in nature, whether it be boating or just enjoying the sunshine.

He is survived by his daughters, April Choate and Julie Choate; brother, Dutch Choate; sister, Tammy Choate; grandchildren Jaslynn Clements, Maryah Rash, and Lilly Clements; and a great granddaughter, Lei'lanni Hall.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Choate; a brother, Travis Choate, and a granddaughter, Jasmin Clements.

Services for James will be conducted at the convenience of the family.
