James R. Jones passed away at the age of 83 at Reid Healthcare in Richmond on January 4, 2025.  James was born on June 8, 1941, in Union, West Virginia, the son of Cary and Sally Bostic Jones.

James married the love of his life, the former Sylvia F. Feury, on September 11, 1961.  They enjoyed 63 years of marriage prior to his death.  They were blessed with three children.

James and Sylvia are members of the New Life Ministries.  He retired after 8 years of service from Valeo in Greensburg and after 22 years from D & M.  James enjoyed mowing his yard, watching old Westerns and The Three Stooges on TV, and playing euchre.  He loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren

His love and memories will be cherished by his wife, Sylvia; daughter Pennie D. McCreery; sons, Sonny James (Frances) Jones and Cary Grant (Kim) Jones; and sisters, Goldie Feury and Wilda (Otis) Lewis.  He will be missed by his grandchildren, Travis (Autumn) Bischoff, Vanessa (Tyler) Bischoff, Samantha (Joey) Lephew, Morgan (Danielle) McCreery, Trae McCreery, Matthew (Tiffany) Jones, Adam Jones, Daniel (Rebecca) Jones, Mackenzie Jones, and Hunter Jones; 16 great grandchildren with one on the way, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three sisters, Leona (Jack) Weikle, Hazel (Emery) Jones and Betty (James) Hoke; brother-in-law, Wayne Feury; daughter-in-law, Tammie Jones, and a grandson, Brandon Jones.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville.  Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.  James will be laid to rest at Orange North Cemetery.
