Obituary

Jerry L. "Red" "Debuzz" Allen of Abington passed away on Tuesday January 16, 2024, at Reid Health in Richmond at the age of 74.  He was born in Richmond on June 17, 1949, the son of the late George and Melba Murphy Allen.
In Litchfield, Michigan on June 14, 1975, Jerry was united in marriage to the former Donna Johnson.  They enjoyed 48 years of marriage prior to his death.  They were blessed with three lovely daughters.
Jerry was a jack of all trades and master of none.  He has worked at Wayne Dairy, did roofing and siding with Fred Madden, traveled with Skinny Todd in his semi, worked at Centerville Feed and Grain and helped with the daily farming activities for Duane Smoker.
Jerry was a member of the Abington Christian Church.  He was a long-time member of the Wayne County Tractor Club and the NRA.  He loved to decorate for Christmas and was a talented artist that enjoyed drawing.  He also enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, gardening, watching the birds and chipmunks, and restoring Oliver Farm Tractors.  Jerry was a simple man who treasured the time he spent with his family especially his grandchildren.
Those that he has left behind to love and cherish his memory include his wife, Donna and his daughters, April (Brian) Engleman, Heather (Emett Moore) Allen and Christina (Robert Durham) Allen.  He will be thought of often by his grandchildren, Emily (James Lawson) Durham, Felicia Allen-Shipp, Chloe Durham, Mason Engleman and Kendra Durham; a brother, Donny (Vickie) Allen; sisters, Nancy (Alan) Cross and Joann Bass; sister-in-law, Shelly Allen: special friends, Michael Stevens, Jack Wheeler and Lester Hicks; as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parent, he is preceded in death by brothers Charles Allen and Stevie Allen and a brother-in-law Tom Bass.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Monday January 22, 2024, at Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home.  Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.  Jerry will be laid to rest at Abington Cemetery.
