Joseph Allen Jarboe, of Connersville, passed away on October 23, 2023, at Reid Health at the age of 70.  Joe was born in Connersville on November 26, 1952, the son of the late David A. and Doris Jean Clevenger Jarboe.

After graduating from Connersville High School in 1970, he went on to join the United States Navy.  He proudly served his country in Vietnam on the USS John King from 1970 to 1974.  Joe attained the rank of Petty Officer 2nd Class.

On December 27, 1980, in Oxford, OH, he was united in marriage to the former Melissa Hill.  They enjoyed 42 years together prior to his death.

Joe attended special services at Alquina United Methodist Church and was a member of the American Legion Post # 1.  He retired after 31 years from Ford Electronics/Visteon where he was a Waste Treatment Operator.

You could often find him working on vehicles, working in puzzle books, or watching sports, especially football.  He was an avid fan of Spartan Football, Notre Dame Football, and the Chicago Bears.  He also enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs.  For many years he was a coach for all sports.  He loved setting off fireworks.  Joe had the ability to bring joy and laughter to all.  He was known to be a prankster, always had a smile on his face, and never met a stranger.  His greatest pleasure was the time he spent with his grandchildren and family and was very proud of the fact that he built the home that he provided for his family by himself.

In addition to his loving wife, he is survived by his children, Emily Jo Jarboe, Anthony "Tony" (Tisha) Jarboe, and Casey Scott (Stefanie Montgomery) Jarboe.  His love and memories will be cherished by his grandchildren, Taylor "Tater Bug" Jarboe and Joseph Fisher; brothers, David Jarboe, Danny (Kim) Jarboe, and Larry (Marilyn) Jarboe; a sister Cathy Coons; as well as all his in-laws and outlaws, and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may visit with the family at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville on Saturday October 28, 2023, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Rob Judd at 1:00 pm.
