Josephine Lucas, age 53, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on March 25, 2025.  Josephine was born on October 31, 1971, the daughter of the late Eddie and Hettie Meyers Lucas.

Josephine was a loving mother and grandmother that enjoyed fishing, cooking, traveling, playing cards and board games, as well as watching TV.  She didn't know a stranger and loved to talk with people.  Her most valuable treasure is the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.  She had worked at area nursing homes as a CNA.

Her memories and love will be cherished by her sons, Richard (fiancé, Erica Watson) Jackson, Gary (Brittney Ammerman) Mullins and grandchildren, Braiden Robinson, Kaylee Jackson, Lillian Jackson, Madison Moistner and Michael Moistner.  She will be thought of often by her brother, Charles (Chrissy Butcher) Lucas, sisters, Marjorie Burris and Christina Marcum: nieces and nephews, Damon Bowling, Dustin Lucas, Alisha Lucas, Harlie Lucas, Charles Lucas, Jr., Jasmine Lucas, Amanda (Zachary Becraft) Marcum, Ashley Richardson, Brian Burris and Derek Burris: close friend Patricia (Russell Messer) Major; and her former husbands, Lester Mullins and Richard Jackson.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son Jonathan Mullins and a former husband, Douglas Story.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Tuesday April 8, 2025, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a service to follow.
