Kathy Allen

Kathy Allen of Laurel Indiana passed away on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, while a resident of Hickory Creek in Connersville, IN at the age of 72. Kathy was born in Manchester, Kentucky, on January 7, 1954, to the late John and Sally Bell (Burns) Combs.

In the early 1970’s. not long after she graduated from Laurel High School, she married the love of her life, Owen “Bud” Allen in Laurel, Indiana. Kathy was a loving and devoted wife to Bud, and they shared over 50 years of marriage prior to his death in 2019.

Kathy retired after 30+ years of service as an LPN. She worked in area nursing homes and retired from Caroleton Manor in Connersville. She lived a simple life enjoying her flower gardens, watching sports, cheering on IU sports, or sunbathing. She cherished the time she spent with her twin nieces, teaching them to cook when they were small. Most importantly, she loved spending time with her family.

Kathy’s love and memories will be cherished by her siblings, Clarence (Teresa) Combs, Gary Combs, twins, Mark (Sharon) Combs and Monda Combs; nieces, Crystal Combs, twins Jasmyn (Austin) Boggess and Jadelyn (Cole) Engish; nephews, Jason Combs, Justin (Becky) Combs, Travis (Betsy) Combs, Brandon (Julie) Combs, Jordon Combs and Clayton Combs, as well as a sister-in-law Debbie McQueen Combs.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a brother, John “Bo” Combs.

Graveside services will be held at Laurel North Cemetery on October 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
