Kizzie Anita Lee, 79, of Liberty, passed away on November 29, 2021. Kizzie was born on February 9, 1942 in Elizabeth City, NC to the late Lucian and Helen Thompson.

On May 7, 1957, she married Edward Lee. They were blessed with more than 30 years of marriage before he passed away on August 5, 1987.

Kizzie was a cook for the Liberty Elementary School and High School until she retired.

Kizzie enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her favorite past time was going camping with her family in the earlier years with her children.

Kizzie is survived by her daughter, Karen Capps, of Liberty; her son, David (Christine) Lee, of Centerville; 7 grandchildren, Bryan Lee, Jessica Lee, David (Chrissy) Burroughs, Tonya (Colin) Paxton, Meghan Burroughs and Donald (Nicole) Burroughs; 7 great grandchildren, Kaiyd, Ashlei, Elly, Conner, Ava, Addie, Keegan and Axel.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her son in law, Larry Capps and a grandson, Dylan Lee.

Services for Kizzie will be held at the convenience of the family. Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
