Larry Wayne Cummins, of Union County, passed away unexpectedly on April 15, 2025 at the age of 77.  Larry was born in Connersville, IN on August 19, 1947, the son of Lonnie W. and Mary Payne Cummins.

He is a 1965 graduate of Brookville High School.  Larry served his country in the United States Navy where he attained the rank of 3rd Class Petty Officer and had served on the USS Alamo.

He retired after 30 plus years from GTE/Verizon.  He started his career as a lineman and at retirement, he was installing phone systems in businesses throughout the area.  Outside of work, Larry, found joy in the simple things.  He had a love for the outdoors.  He enjoyed spending his time fishing, hunting, and trapping.

His memories will be cherished by his children, Larry W. (Shellie) Cummins and Shannon (Eric) Orr; a brother, Dennis Cummins; grandchildren, Nicholas Orr, Brandon Cummins, and Brianna Cummins; a great grandchild, Roux Dykes; his first wife and mother to his children, Barbara Cummins, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Clara Jean Monroe and Rita Ann Ball.

Keeping with Larry's wishes, cremation was chosen.  Urban Winkler Liberty Funeral Home is honored to assist Larry's family with his arrangements.
