Larry D. Toney passed away with his wife by his side at Reid Health on April 27, 2024 at the age of 76.    Larry was the 7th son of the 7th son born on July 15, 1947 in Richmond, IN to Eugene and Verda Blair Toney.  He was one of 16 children.

Larry was united in marriage on July 22, 1972 to the former Jeanie Lawson.  Larry and Jeanie met as young adults at the Forest Hill County Club, where she worked in the kitchen and he a groundskeeper.  They shared 52 years of marriage and were blessed with two children prior to his death.

For over 15 years, Larry served as the caretaker of Elkhorn Cemetery.  He also worked at the Elks Country Club as a groundskeeper.   He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather who was known to be a fun-loving individual.  He was always joking and being a character, but he would tell you what was what.  Larry loved life and going mushroom hunting, fishing and hunting. Mowing grass and maintaining his yard was one of his favorite things to do.   His most treasured times were the ones he spent with his family.

In addition to his wife, the love of his life, his love and memories will be cherished by his children, Charlotte (Ryan) Marlin and Larry Daniel Toney; grandchildren, Cody Toney, Braeden Spada, Jaerden Spada, Irena Kay Toney and A.J. Dubois; great grandchildren, Kaylie and Spencer Toney; many nieces and nephews; his childhood best friend, Bub McNew; and his beloved dog, Bubba.

Funeral services will be held at Grace Community Church, 308 Meadow Lane, Liberty at 1:00 pm on Wednesday May 1, 2024 with Pastor Troy Caudill officiating.  Friends may gather with the family from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.

Memorial contributions in memory of Larry may be made to the charity of your choice.
