Leonard L. Sturgeon, age 95, of Shelbyville, passed away on January 12, 2023 in Greenwood, IN.  He was born on June 1, 1927 in Connersville, Indiana.

He was united in marriage on June 24, 1954, to the love of his life, Marilyn Potts.  They shared 68 years together and were blessed with two children prior to his passing.

Leonard served in the Unites States Navy from May 1945 to August 1946, attaining the rank of Seaman First Class.  He retired from the Flint Ink Corporation as a Salesman after 50 years of service.

His passion was playing golf and you could find him relaxing on the golf course.  He enjoyed riding around in his Mercedes and spending time with his family.

His love and memories will be cherished forever by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Kathy Ann Sturgeon; and a son, Leonard "Leroy" (Debra) Sturgeon, II.  He will be thought of often by his grandchildren, Heather (Brian) Sturgeon-Gant, Tyler (Elizabeth) Sturgeon, and Joshua (Brooke) Sturgeon; great grandchildren, Morgan Lynden and Kayla and step great grandchildren, Lilly and William.

Family and friends may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8 ^th Street, Connersville on Wednesday January 18, 2023 from 1:00 to 2:00 pm with service conducted by Pastor Rob Judd at 2:00 pm.  Burial with military graveside honors will follow at Dale Cemetery.
