Linda Swango passed away at Reid Health Richmond on Wednesday July 1, 2026, at the age of 80.  Linda was born on June 16, 1946, in Bicknell, Indiana, the daughter of the late William Cargal and Elizabeth (Honaker) Cargal Harvey.

On August 20, 1966, at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Linda married the love of her life, Lewis Carl Swango III.  Together they shared 59 years of marriage prior to her death and created a loving family of four.

Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother that enjoyed taking care of her family,  friends, and was true animal lover.  No one ever went hungry if Linda was around.  She also enjoyed reading, watching movies, going shopping and traveling.  Her most valuable treasures were the times she spent with her family.

Her love and memories will be cherished by her husband, Lou; son Michael Joseph Swango; grandchildren, Tiphani, Blake and Christopher; great grandchildren, Sawyer and Luxana; sister-in-law Debbie Cargal; a niece and nephew, Dana and Scott; a special cousin, Shannon King and her son Travis,  as well as her beloved dog, Gracie.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her son David Christopher Swango and her brother, William Cargal, Jr.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Thursday July 9, 2026,  at 1:00 pm with Pastor Rob Judd officiating.  Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
