Louise Hayes of Connersville, passed away on Monday March 4, 2024 at the age of 85.  Louise was born in Rushville, Indiana on November 21, 1938, one of twelve children of August "Gust" and Florine Niehoff Herbert.

On October 4, 1963, she married the love of her life, Dareld Hayes, in Blooming Grove, Indiana.  They shared 53 years together prior to his death in 2016.

After 30 plus years, Louise retired from Blue Cross & Blue Sheild where she worked in the claims department.  She loved to cook, go camping and taking care of her dogs throughout the years.  She treasured the time she spent with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jay Hayes; brothers, Lloyd Herbert and Jerry Herbert; sisters, Pat McVey, Caroline Risk, Jeanne Hawley, Mary Hoeing and Becky Stewert; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hayes, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, David Hayes; brothers, Walter Herbert and Virgil Herbert and sisters, Ruthie Carr, and Angela Godar.

Graveside services will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Rushville, IN on Monday March 18, 2024, at 11:00 am.
