Marilyn Sue
Chasteen
Feb 9, 1942 — Mar 15, 2025
Marilyn Sue Chasteen went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2025, at the age of 83. She was born on February 9, 1942, in Danville, Kentucky, the daughter of Homer Carey and Mary Ann Curtsinger Carey.
Marilyn was united in marriage to William Chasteen, Jr., on May 28, 1958, in Connersville. They were blessed with five children.
Marilyn loved her family and always made sure to let them know. She enjoyed taking photographs, feeding the birds and staying in touch with her family. She loved to stay busy around the house and did until the day she passed. She had a fun sense of humor and found joy in the smallest things.
Her love and memories will be cherished by her daughters, Rebecca (Steve Smith) Isaacs and Rose (Tremayne Fields) Chasteen; sons, William (Tina Smith) Chasteen and Brian (Aleyda) Chasteen; 13 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. She will be thought of often by her sister Mary Ellen Crowe, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather, Homer Benedict; her husband, William; a son, Bobby Chasteen; sister, Nancy (Lewis) Brown, brother, Harlan Carey, an infant sister and brother-in-law, Clifton Crowe.
Goodbye is too definitive, we will see you "later".
Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Friends and family may visit from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Marilyn will be laid to rest at Columbia Cemetery.
