Marilyn Sue Morgan, 84 of rural Fayette County, passed away unexpectantly surrounded by her daughters on October 19th, 2026. Born in Hamilton, Ohio on August 27th, 1942 to Robert Joseph Bannon and Esther Eileen (Mathis) Bannon. She attended Connersville schools.
On April 25th, 1964, she was united in marriage to Joseph Morgan in Connersville and they shared 57 years of marriage until his passing on March 10th, 2022.
She is survived by her daughters, Vickie Morgan of Connersville and Lisa Reisert of Rushville; granddaughter Jessica Marcum and her husband David Marcum (whom she thought of as her own); 4 great grandchildren, Mackenzie Marcum ( significant other Uriah Hamilton), Adrianna Marcum (significant other Chandler Redd) Jayce Marcum and Kaycee Jo Marcum all of Connersville; 2 sisters, Deborah Fredrick of Columbia Fall, Montana and Barbara Hetland of Tennessee; many loving nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, mother, father, sister Loretta Hughes, brothers Michael Bannon Sr. and Kent Bannon.
Marilyn was homemaker, who enjoyed reading, was a fabulous cook and enjoyed watching sports being an avid Indiana Fever Basketball fan, an Indiana Pacers fan and Indianapolis Colts fan, and she enjoyed visiting with her neighbors. Her greatest joy in life came from her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Marilyn always opened her home to any child in need and done so with unconditional love.
At a young age she was required to step up and help raise her 4 younger siblings and continued caregiving to countless children through the years. Many of whom still call her mom. Marilyn was a gentle soul, and we feel blessed to have had her as our mom.
Keeping with Marilyn’s wishes, graveside services will be conducted by Urban Winkler Funeral Home at the Columbia Cemetery on Sunday October 25, 2026, at 2:00 pm. She will be laid to rest beside her husband.
