Marjorie L
White
Jun 4, 1944 — Apr 10, 2025
On Thursday, April 10, 2025, Marjorie Lou Browning White, was called home to be with her Heavenly Father after several years of nursing home living and care; First provided by Flat Rock River Lodge of Rushville, followed by Restoracy of Whitestown, Indiana. Marge was born on June 4, 1944, in Mckee, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Clyde and Dora M. Davidson Browning.
Marge, who was strong of faith, had a servant's heart and a caretaker's tender touch with all whom came in contact with her; whether it be family, a friend, co- worker or a child, who needed a home to love them. She left an impression and influenced those around her with her spirituality, singing and humming her favorite hymns, as well as her love of the Word of God. Marge's spiritual growth was nurtured at Harrisburg Union Church and the First Church of the Nazarene of Connersville. As a testament of who Marge was, she spent a large part of her working years doing in-home care for those with mental and physical needs; while always providing an open home for her numerous nieces and nephews. Marge's hobbies included camping, playing cards, tending to her beautiful flower beds and gardens and thrifting on her travels with her best friend Anne Ekstrom. Other organizations that she belonged to were: The Eastern Star, Spoon Spinner's Home Ec Club of Fayette County, and The Red Hat Society in Connersville and Rushville.
Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 32 years Robert "Bob" White who passed away on May 29th, 1995; her parents, Clyde and Dora (Davidson) Browning, older brothers Harold Parret and William "Herschel" Browning; a son, Robert "Rob" White; and a grandson Dexter Baker.
As she liked to quote, "It is well with my soul" (Psalm 118:24), we too, will be well, as we reflect on her memory with daughters Margene (David) Robinson of Indianapolis; Beth Stevens (Kim Walton) of Muncie; Betsy (Derek Grubbs) Baker of McCordsville; bonus children: Sherrie (Rob) Hart of Morristown, Indiana, Bella (Rebecca) Clay of Richmond, Indiana, and Billy Smiley of Portland, Indiana; former son-in-law BJ Baker of McCordsville; and a sister, Betty Wilson of Rushville. Furthermore, she will be missed by her grandchildren who not only called her Grandma, but also Strudel: Mina and Tori Hedrick; Ethan, Ashley and Alexis (Garrett Clark) Robinson; Zack White; Kae, Bizzy and Fitz Baker, Stella and Ian Grubbs; and great grandchildren, Rogan and Miller Clark.
Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Friday April 18, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Marge will be laid to rest next to her husband at Dale Cemetery.
