Mary June Baker, age 66 and lifelong resident of Connersville, passed away peacefully at her home on November 16 2024, surrounded by loved ones and her beloved fur babies, Max, Millie, and Sugar. Mary was born in Connersville on February 12, 1958, the daughter of the late Lester and Mary Isabell Neeley Poe.

On March 1, 1980, Mary was united in marriage to Steve A. Baker. They shared 37 years of marriage prior to his death on March 19, 2017.  Mary and Steve enjoyed many years on their houseboat on Brookville Lake.

Mary had worked at Visteon for 26 years prior to their closing, retiring due to her health.  After retirement, Mary enjoyed staying at home to care for her fur babies and watch her favorite TV show.  She had a passion for working in her gardens.  She could grow anything and loved to can her tomato juice to share with her family and friends.  She loved music off all kinds and enjoyed jam session in her garage.

Mary's love and memories will be cherished by her son, Jimmy (Dawn) Baker; grandchildren, Nick (Ashley) Baker, Dylan (Audrey) Baker and Wyatt Allen all of Connersville, Josey Allen of Kettering, Ohio and Elizabeth Baker of Panama City, Florida; and three great grandchildren that she loved dearly, Karley Baker, Blakely Baker and Waylon Baker.  She will be in the thoughts of her siblings, Deb Royce of Camden, NY, Lora Hines, Gloria Meadows, Leslie Rowe, Lester Poe, Charles Poe and Angela Poe all of Connersville; sister-in-law, Anita Fay (Vernon) Brown; as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by sisters, Cindy Handy ad Lola Bargo, brother Carl Poe and her special friend, Gary Stacy.

The family would like to thank Southern Care Hospice for all their love, care and support in this difficult time and also everyone who pitched in these last few weeks.  Mary will be missed by everyone.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Wednesday November 20, 2024 at 1:00  pm.  Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the hour of the service.  Mary will be laid to rest next to Steve at Laurel North Cemetery.
