Mary L. Durham

Mary L. Durham, 77 of Connersville, passed away on Tuesday, November 3, 2026. She was born on February 21, 1949, in Brookville to Virgil Sorrell and Ellen McDaniel Sorrell.

Mary was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who devoted much of her life to caring for her family. As a homemaker she took great pride in raising her children and creating a loving home. Family was an important part of her life, and she cherished the time spent with those she loved.

Mary enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially spending time outdoors, fishing, mushroom hunting, and taking scenic drives in search of deer while admiring the beauty of nature.

She is survived by her siblings, Calvin (Janice) Sorrell and Sharon Elliott; many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her children, Ramona Hines, Tina Hokey and Lisa Hokey; her brothers, Wilbur Sorrell, Jesse Sorrell and James Sorrell; her sisters, Loretta Pence, Margie Barbour and Barbara Hawkins.

Friends and family may gather at Urban Winkler Funeral Home on Wednesday November 11, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Funeral services for Mary will begin at 1:00 pm with Pastor Chris Lovett officiating.
