Matthew Steele passed away on February 21, 2024 at his residence at the age of 58 after an extended illness.  Matthew was born in Connersville, Indiana on March 29, 1965 the son of the late Clifton and Dena Johnson Steele.

Throughout his life he had worked in different factories.  Most recently he had been employed at Kontainer Kraft.  Matthew enjoyed fishing and playing cards.  He also enjoyed the time he spent with his church family at Soldiers in the Army of the Lord.  His most valued treasure was the time he spent with his grandchildren and family.

Those that he has left behind to cherish his love and memories include his sons, Corey (Kristine) Steele and Curtis (April) Earlywine; daughters, Tiffany (Tyler Moore) Steele, Dollie Steele, Emily (Lawrence) Schwab and Hannah (Dallas) Harsh; and grandchildren, Taylor, Jackson, Mason, Madyson, Connor, Tiffany, Charleigh, Zayden and Naomi.  He will be thought of often by his sisters, Angela Durham and Teresa Brendel; a special niece and best friend Carol Durham; his beloved cat, Meowie Wowie; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Luther Steele; grandson, Cory Boyer; sister in law, Brenda Logan; brother in law, Mark Brendal; and grandparents, Luther and Pearl Steele and Jesse and Jackie Johnson.

Keeping with Matthew wishes cremation was chosen and no services are scheduled at this time.
