Francis Michael "Mike" Schmid, born September 17, 1962, in Connersville, the youngest of 12 children born to Robert Frank and Martha Hacker Schmid, went to is Heavenly home to be with our lord Jesus Christ on February 1, 2024, after a long battle with cancer.

On October 31, 1985, Mike met his soul mate TomiJo Bolton Griffin and became the father of James and Luke and had two children together daughter Frances Michaele Schmid and a son Ryan Dale Schmid, then on June 4, 1994, Mike and Tomi was married and have been together a total of 38 years.

He was our Patriarch, our Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend.

Mike spent his final days surrounded by those who loved him in his earthly home in Everton Indiana.

He spent his Life working in his profession, Concrete Construction. He began working in concrete with his brother, Dick, and worked with several other concrete companies, including Graf Concrete and Tomlin Construction.  In 1999 he started his own company, Mike Schmid Concrete Construction, Inc.  He was an Artist whose work touched the lives of thousands.

His hobbies in life were listening to music, watching westerns, and pro wrestling. He was the American Dream. A working man.  Mike was his name and concrete was his game and he was the strongest person we knew.

Survivors includes is children, James Griffin, Michaele Schmid, Ryan (Kat) Schmid; grandchildren, Carson Griffin, Malaki Griffin, Michael Griffin, Gage Roberts Griffin, Adrionna Griffin, Michael Schmid, Lucy Roland, Lylah Roland; brothers and sisters, Barbara (James) Nichols of Fl, James (Sully) Schmid of FL, Shirley (Bill) Marr of FL, Marilyn Anderson of Brookville, Frannie (Robert) Watson of Brookville, Wanda (Keith) Monroe of Brookville, Vickie (Jeff) Cooper of Oxford, Kathy (Mike) Mclaughlin of Batesville, Lillie Mae (Dan) Hubbard of Liberty, Belinda Bolton of Laurel, Amanda, Richie and Bruce Boyer, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Those who proceed Mike in death are his parents, brothers and sisters Claudia Schmid, Carol Roemer, Dick Schmid, RB Watson, Linda Schmid., Jim Nichols, Jeff Cooper, Jeff Shelton; a daughter Patti Griffin, son Luke Griffin, and a granddaughter Jaiden Griffin.

Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Urban Winkler Funeral Home in Connersville from 4:00-8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 8m 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Roy Vanwinkle officiating.  Mike will be laid to rest at Laurel North Cemetery.
