Michael E. Wilson passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 while a patient at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis at the age of 73.  Michael was born in Batesville, Indiana on March 12, 1952, the son of the late H. Eugene Wilson and Juanita Gabbard.

He retired from Hill-Rom in 2018. He also worked at National Metal in Connersville.  He showed his love for being outdoors by hunting, fishing, trapping or camping.  He had a love of animals and raised show chickens.  Most of all, he treasured the time he spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Sonya Ann Wilson and Michael Shawn Wilson; a brother, Ronnie (Donna) Wilson; and sisters, Melody (Jon) Abrams and Vickie Grizzell. He will be dearly missed by several nieces, nephews and many friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepmother, Ruth Wilson, who raised him; and three nieces, Genia Wilson Charles, April Wilson and Christina Rose.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the convenience of the family.   Urban Winkler Funeral Home is honored to assist Michael's family with the arrangements.
