Mildred Rose of Boston, Massachusetts and Connersville, Indiana passed away on Tuesday, June 4, 2024, at the age of 81.

She was cherished by her son, Dr. Jason Best, and daughter-in-law, Sara Maene, her family and friends, and the hundreds of students she helped to educate over the last four decades. She was a loved and respected teacher at St. Gabriel School and Maplewood Elementary for many years, and was a devoted member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church.

A visitation will occur at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville, on Monday, June 10, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will occur at the funeral home on Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 11:00 am.  Mildred will be laid to rest at Everton Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a monetary donation to St. Gabriel's School for the purchase of books and educational materials. In this way, her efforts in educating children can continue for generations to come.

She would not wish for you to weep for her, for she has known the light. She has looked on beauty, has lived in peace, and has loved. May we all do the same.
