Mildred Ann Stamm of Connersville passed away in the comfort of her home with her family by her side on Sunday May 10, 2026, at the age of 81. The daughter of the late Harry Underwood and Lucille Clark Underwood Mitchell, she was born in Lawton, Kentucky on July 16, 1944.

On November 23, 1963, at the First Church of Nazarene, she was united in marriage to Billy Gene Stamm.  They shared 39 years of marriage prior to his death on December 6, 2002.

Mildred had been employed at JC Penney for several years, Snowman on Central Ave for over 20 years and in customer service at Walmart.  Outside of work she found joy in the simple things, tending to her vegetable garden and many flower gardens.  She was well known for her cooking and baking, sharing recipes and collecting cooking magazines and cookbooks.  She enjoyed going shopping and to yard sales and loved her pets.  When she was younger, she would help her mom with quilting, she loved sewing and crocheting.

Her love and memories will be held close to the hearts of her surviving family, her son, William Gene Stamm; a brother, Wilford (Geraldine) Underwood; sister-in-law Joyce Underwood, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by two brothers, James Underwood and William "Bill" Underwood.

Funeral services will be held at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at 2:00 pm.  Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery.  Friends and family may gather at the funeral home from 11:00 am until the time of the service.
