Morris Abbott "Morrie", age 76 of Connersville, passed away at his home surrounded by family on Monday, December 23, 2024. He was born on March 19, 1948 in Connersville, IN, the son of the late John E. Abbott and Ada Alberstein Abbott.

He married the former Debra Hartwell on December 28, 1973 in Rushville, Indiana. Together they were blessed with 2 children and a bonus daughter.

Morrie was a Connersville High School graduate. After school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp., after his service in the Marines he enlisted in the National Guard and then into the Army Reserves, for 17 years surrendered his life for his country. Morrie proudly flew on the Honor Flight in 2022, it was a wonderful experience for him.

Once Morrie was home from the military, he worked in the manufacturing industry. He was employed by D&M for 28 years and Container Kraft for 25 years. In his leisure time Morrie enjoyed relaxing while playing golf and cards. He also enjoyed traveling with his family. Morrie cherished the time he spent with this family.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Abbott, his children; Chad Abbott, Holly (William) Keel and Julie (Jacob) Cranfill; his siblings; Molly (Gary) Keener and Joy Long; his grandchildren, Rachel, Deborah, Noah, Elisabeth, Brookelyn, Hannah, William JR., Morgan, Alex and Trystan; his great grandchildren, Benjamin, Zeke, Victoria, Hudson, Brayleigh, Westyn, Oaklynn, Madelyn, Avalynn, Jaxtyn and Levi, and 2 on the way; He will also be missed by several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Kirk Matthews, Randy Morehead and Darryll Morehead Sr.; his nephew, Darryll Lee Morehead Jr., and a brother in law, Robert Long.

The burial of the cremated remains will be held on Friday, January 10, 2024, at 3:00 pm at Dale Cemetery. A Celebration of life will follow at 4:00 pm at Woodland Bible Church, 835 W. County Road 300 N., Connersville.
