Moxie R. Blakely of Connersville passed away on May 9, 2026, at Reid Health Connersville at the age of 78.  Moxie is one of four children born to Roy L. Blakely and Lois Christine Steele Blakely Richardson.  He was born on September 22, 1947, in Connersville.

In 1990, Moxie was united in marriage to the former Janet Guy in Tennessee.  They have shared many years together prior to his death.

He was a proud member of New Fairfield Masonic Lodge #98 for several years.  He worked mainly in manufacturing.  He was employed  at D & M for 25 plus years, Federal Mogul in Greensburg and Trane in Rushville.  He was an avid fan of NASCAR, cheering on Bill and Chase Elliott, watching TV or taking his daily 6 mile walk at Robert's Park.  He was extremely proud of his 1987 Camaro.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; son, Dr. Curtis (Brian Lackey) Blakely, stepsons, Ryan (April) Baker and Todd (Lisa) Baker; grandchildren, Kayla, Kerrigan, Ashton, Kyra, Abryann, Owen, Luke and Lilly; nine great grandchildren; as well as a sister, Sharon (Bob) Cavins and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Blakely and Gary Blakely.
