Obituary

In Loving Memory of Nancy L. Wilson

Nancy L. Wilson peacefully passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. Born on November 13, 1934, to J. Willard and Ethel Funk, Nancy was a proud 1952 graduate of Connersville High School. She furthered her education at Miami University, earning a bachelor's degree in education. In November 1955, she married Carl (Bill) Wilson, who sadly passed away in September 2023, after 68 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they owned and managed J.W. Funk Insurance, leaving a legacy that continues with Wilson, Lawson, and Myers.

Those who knew Nancy will remember her as an elegant and beautiful person, both inside and out. She dedicated herself to serving her community through various organizations, including Central Christian Church, Habitat for Humanity, the Salvation Army, the Hospital Foundation, Friends of the Library, Tri Kappa Sorority, Altrusa Club, and the Sea Siders.

Nancy and Bill cherished their time spent watching their grandchildren and later their great-grandchildren pursue their passions. They enjoyed boating on the Ohio River, playing cards and games, dining out, and traveling—especially with their beloved family members Brad, Kim, Dennis, and Lisa. Nancy also had her own passions, including reading her Bible, visiting shut-ins, sending heartfelt cards, playing the piano, and assembling jigsaw puzzles. This past year, she took great joy in watching Caitlin Clark play college basketball and continued to cheer for her as she joined the Fever.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband Bill and her son Brad.

She will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Lisa (Dennis) Amrhein, daughter-in-law Kim Wilson, and her grandchildren: Robbie (Jenny) Wilson, Christian (BJ) Cole, Andy Wilson, Rachelle (Michael) Butts, and Elizabeth (Kyle) Hauger. Her great-grandchildren include Alexis and Emma Wilson, Baylie and Griffen Wilson, Abby (Dylan) Redd, Bryce, Drew, and Chloe Cole, Cole and Cameron Butts, and Cody and Kaylee Hauger, along with her great-great-granddaughter Charlotte Redd. Special thanks to her caregivers, Kara Deboard and Carrie Lykins, and her extended family among the residents of Autumn Trace.

Visitation and a memorial service will be held on November 2 at Central Christian Church, beginning at 10:00 AM, with the service starting at 12:00 PM.

In honor of Nancy, donations can be made to:  Central Christian Church, Fayette County Cancer Society, Bill and Nancy Wilson Community Enhancement Endowment at Fayette County Foundation, Brad Wilson Memorial Community Impact at Fayette County Foundation, or St. Jude's Children's Hospital.

Nancy's spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved.
