Opal Ilene Masters passed away on March 15, 2024, at the Heritage House in Connersville at the age of 102.  She was born on August 21, 1921, in Connersville, the daughter of Earl and Thelma Oliphant Masters.

Opal graduated from Fairview High School and went on to attend Richmond Business College.  She was employed as a legal secretary for Albert Heeb for 32 years retiring in 1997.  She also worked for the Law Office of Hugh B. Russell and at Hayes Track Appliance Company in Richmond.

Opal was known as a thoughtful, loving and giving person.  Her family and friends always came first.  She always had a little Pomeranian dog in her arms, in her lap or following close behind her.

Her love and memories will be cherished by two nieces, Linda (Kevin) Lichtenberg Schofner and Esther Lichtenberg; great niece and nephew, Adam (Adair) Everhart and Megan (Clint) Shireman; and great great-nieces, Sallie, Samantha, Raelyn and Zyla.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth E. Masters, sisters, Evelyn Hanson, Violet Lichtenberg and Esther Masters; and brothers in law, Kenneth Lichtenberg and Clifford Hanson.

Keeping with Opal's wishes, private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family at Metamora Cemetery in Metamora, IN.
