Pamela
Simmermeyer
May 7, 1951 — Sep 11, 2026
Pamela "Pam" S. (Frye) Simmermeyer, age 75, of Connersville, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2026. The daughter of John and Maxine Frye, Pam, was born on May 7, 1951.
After graduating from Connersville High School, Pam went on to attain a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Pam also proudly served her country in the U.S. Army as a Tank Ordnance Specialist. Throughout her time in the Army, she spent nearly 1.5 years in the European theatre.
Following her military service, she devoted much of her career to helping others. She began working for Landmark as a Service Coordinator and Developmental therapist. She later worked as a case manager with Area 9 Agency, where she assisted families in finding the resources and support they needed. She then opened her own case management company named Pamela Simmermeyer Case management. Her compassionate nature and desire to make a difference were evident throughout her career. She found great enjoyment in advocating and caring for those she served.
Pam loved to cook, garden and tending to her flowers. She was an herbalist; she enjoyed learning about and using herbs and the gifts found in nature. Music was also an important part of her life, she enjoyed playing the guitar and was a gifted singer who enjoyed sharing her beautiful voice at church. She loved her Shih Tzu, Rocky and had a love for cats.
Above all, she was an incredible mother. Her family was the center of her life, and she demonstrated that through the love and care she provided for them. She faithfully cared for her son, Gregg, every day up until his passing in May 2023; a reflection of the unconditional love and devotion she had for her children.
Her granddaughters brought her joy; she treasured the time she was able to spend with them and especially loved watching them practice ballet and attending their performances.
She will be remembered for her strength, many talents, her caring nature and most importantly the love she had for her family.
Pam is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Aaron) Mays; her granddaughters, Felicity and Nora Mays; her sister, Connie Alsup and the father of her children, James Simmermeyer.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Greggory Simmermeyer.
