Peggy Morgan, age 90, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on June 24, 2023.  Peggy was born in Fayette County. Indiana on June 9, 1933, the daughter of the late Kenneth Sr., and Hallie Cooper Hauger.

On July 22, 1962, Peggy was united in marriage to Kenneth Morgan in Connersville.  They enjoyed nearly 61 years of marriage prior to her death.

Peggy was a member of and very active in the Western Avenue Baptist Church.  She oversaw all the funeral dinners, or any other meal being planned at the church.  She enjoyed cooking, taking walks, fishing, mushroom hunting, gardening and going out to eat.  Every fall she loved canning and freezing what she gathered from her garden.  She lived a simple life and treasured the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.  Peggy had a caring heart.  She would put the needs of others above her own.  Even at the end, telling her family that they needed to eat.

Having retired in the late 1990's, she was a QMA at the former Lincoln Manor and Lincoln Centers Nursing Home.

Her love and memory will be cherished by her husband, Kenneth; daughters, Jenny (Mike) Sparks and Pam Ford; grandchildren, Nicholas Sparks, Nathan (Jerri) Sparks, and Rebecca (Ryan) Ruf; great grandchildren, Wyatt and Lucy Sparks, Kanyon Sparks, and Rylee, Evan and Corbin Ruf: and a sister-in-law, Edna Hauger.

Beside her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, David Hughes, who passed in 1958; brothers, Bob, Kenneth, Jr., Jimmy, and Donald Hauger; Sister, Mary Ellen Bever and grandson Douglas Ford.

Friends and family may gather on Thursday June 29, 2023, at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W. 8th Street, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.  Pastor Mal Gibson and Reverend Ralph Morris will conduct funeral services at 1:00 pm with burial at Lick Creek.
