Jul 6, 1934 — May 1, 2026
Pastor Ralph Morris, 91, of Brownsville, Indiana went home to be with the Lord on Friday, May 1, 2026. He was born on July 6, 1934, in McKee, Kentucky to Leonard Morris and Amanda Shock Morris.
Ralph attended Luther Rice Seminary School in Jacksonville, Florida where he obtained his Bachelor of Divinity degree in ministry.
On August 18, 1951, he married Margie Lee (Martin) Morris.
For 53 years, Ralph dedicated his life to ministry, serving several community churches with his unwavering faith, compassion, and humility. His calling was not just a profession but his lifelong mission to guide, uplift, and support others. Through his sermons, prayers, and quiet acts of kindness, he touched countless lives and helped strengthen the spiritual foundation of the communities he served. In return, Ralph and Margie have always been blessed by loving and kind neighbors to whom they are ever grateful.
Outside of his ministry, Ralph worked for Fernald Feed Materials Production Center refining uranium for the U.S. nuclear weapons program and was recognized as a "Cold War Patriot." He also found joy in life's simple and creative pleasures, having a talent for wood carving. He created pieces that reflected both his patience and craftsmanship. Fishing brought him peace and quiet reflection. He enjoyed traveling to new places and making lasting memories with his family. Above all, he cherished his family and the time spent with them.
Ralph is survived by his wife of 74 years, Margie; his children: Jim (Karlene) Morris, Timothy (Christine) Morris, and Lawana (Gary) Bain; his grandchildren: Misty Benincasa, Kraig Morris, Gary Bain Jr., Cherish Howard, Amanda Holley, Esther Morris, Elaine Bruns, Tim Morris, Tiffany Harris, Justin Morris, and Libby Abercrombie; 22 great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Ray Morris, Ronnie Morris, Wanda Preston, and Gail Tuttle; his daughter, Shirley Jean Morris; and great grandchildren, Levi and Ashlynn Morris.
