Ralph Ray passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024 with his loving family by his side at the age of 72.  Ralph was born in Fairland, Indiana on October 12, 1951, the son of Max and Sarah Mitchell Ray.

He was united in marriage in 1971 to Kathy Pouge Ray.  They enjoyed 45 years of together prior to her death in June 2016.

He retired from the United States Air Force in 1991 after 20 years of dedicated service.  He attained the rank of E-6.  After retirement he returned to Shelbyville and worked in area factories until his health no longer allowed him to work in 2011.  When not working he enjoyed refurbishing antiques and going shopping in thrift stores.  He also was an avid Pacers fan, enjoyed watching NASCAR, WWE Westling and was known to binge watch Gordon Ramsey cooking shows.  Ralph was a simple man that valued the time he spent with his family.

His love and memories will be forever cherished by his son, Richard (Rose) Ray; sister, Becky (Charles) Alies; grandchildren Sean Ray, Elisa Ray, Austin Ray, Mark Bennett and Ashley Bennett; and great grandchildren, Elena Hicks, Kira McDougall and Kai McDougall.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Ray and a brother, Steve Ray.

Funeral services will be held on Monday June 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm with military services following at the funeral home.  Friends and family may gather from 11:00 am until the time of the service at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville.
